the first thing I’ll teach you about
drag racing is the first liar never has a chance no image there’s a right tool
for the job and this is not it welcome back to build a battle the guys
are working away we just took away a thousand dollars each of their budget in
the last episode hello bad daddy bratty how you feeling after that thousand
dollars guys did you say return to stuff last night I went through my budget and
was like I’m gonna return that I want to return that I want to return that
because I went back to needs and wants and there was a few things on the list
that were wants not necessarily me write up and make the car run yeah because I’m
afraid when we get down to the nitty-gritty right now we might not make
it through and that’s like hoses fittings right those little things you
never think about so what’s your plan today what are you working on because
we’ve got the new Holley system Wow pretty sick so you’ve just done a little
cleanup work to find out how much of the core support we’re gonna happen because
radiator we took out hoping it wasn’t gonna work

because as you can tell we’re really grubby and dirty so we’re gonna try to
get 15 years of dirt off of this before we put the new heart in and at the end
of the day you’ll actually see a v8 sitting in an s10 you just sneaking this
in here allegedly how much did you purchase this for $59 I got ripped off
did you now I raised the price of LS motors over the course of the last year
because I easily got to find these for like five hundred to a thousand dollars
somebody ruined it burrito Oh you see what Brad did you mean with the warts that just came out of
there yeah we don’t want that they bred this just came out of here he
blew this out of the motor that’s actually why Brad that’s why Brad
did that he knew there was stuff in there is the bolt that came the nut that
came out of here engine put it back as far as our kids build goes here keep it
simple stupid kind of like my dad taught me we went ahead and ordered us some
eBay as you guys know my favorite place this is a better eBay less than $100
yeah what is it this is the complete engine adapter mounting kit for you read
this label installing a Chevy LS series motor into any two-wheel drive as tanner
blade for hunger plugs so this part bolts to the motor and this actually
goes in here and bolts to the original frame mounts Oh Mike don’t frame mount
hardware everyday instructions for less than hundred dollars also eBay but it’s
for there he goes headers for Chevy LS Wow how much for these hundred nine
dollars so for two hundred bucks you have headers and a mount kit to drop
a junkyard motor into your s10 open it in and have everything sitting
in there already pretty and I have an idea
so you’re a bit ahead of the game huh we’re gonna we’re smoking these guys
getting about the motor you know if you win so what are you guys doing no we
gotta break this stuff in pieces then so we’re just gonna lay it there’s a
process sound that thing and this stuff you know instead of poking at it like
with a screwdriver but or whatever try to get all this far off you put dries
and it’ll pop out easily with a hammer get it nice and frozen yeah and you need
a gun for making all that noise welching on oh
that old fuel system and well let’s show you what we did this is a straight-up
eBay build how much they need a hundred and thirty one hundred and thirty four
dollars from you via YouTube can buy this today it’s the other you can see
your face and a Brad John is bias on his own TV story I mean drag racing is all
about cheating right the first liar never has a chance you’re to know every shortly we’re
talking we’re gonna have to top it down housing already shortened and ironically
this whole kit is built for an s10 truck so everything ready so this would do
Brad wonders yeah but you guys are putting it in your are accepting how
much did you get it for it’s a full housing or a modified rope breaks rotors
axles and we need us a spool which is a hundred bucks off the god Rex’s are you
know I found a half years yeah and then we got to get up here it was made for an
s10 you lucky dog where did you guys find a my Facebook
blocker place not on eBay though it’s a funny basis I know my over in for 500
bucks housing 1 you can access my stock axles
are strong about the big boy power so yeah there’s a motor mounts on huh all
the motor mounts are on our headers are on these plates here and these plates
are here are on plus the motor mounts we want to sneak it in because they
recommend using a car style oil pan because these are a little deeper right
but we’re cheap yeah those truck boys are big yeah we’re trying to fit it it’s
like it might be okay though yeah we might be okay and that way we can save
couple hundred dollars on that right so this is just the test fit test first
test fit let’s pull this header out so the headers got to go right there
yeah not a good thing where did they think that this header
was gonna fit in that you know what I want to know the real
deal what’s going on as we say how’s it going
right there what’s the plan on the driver side Brad great looks like
everybody’s party still a Holden though so I don’t see too big of a problem cuz
we built the steering shaft before but yeah put up some primary care and
support Mary Mary to get in gonna be fine
and then dude like literally I think if we do a little dingy dingy dingy dingy
dingy there might be fine like a little oh you mean bent the header just a
little bit down first Moses a just put a nice tight radius right there yeah Denton I found my favorite Vargas are
you gonna go yeah you go afford to go turbo for kay-kay we’ve got I got 32 are and what manifold
to say there’s no English it looks kind of shitty but yeah benign and reran well
budget are you guys using with 9 grand that you got a 9 inch in them like the
new thing is Facebook marketplace nothing that house saying honestly put a
shirt on you you really just polished up occurred how much would that cost

I’m building this car I got some safety gear
that’s a way is a new fire came in there’s a turtle
turtle smart 60 mil away ski was gonna control the booths with that big turbo
doesn’t just go crazy and bully and you know if the manifold was supposed to be
a 60 but the firing which is basically what seals the bottom of the wastegate
that’s not fish you didn’t fit there but on a part that comes with the turbosmart
wastegate it sits in there nicely so what I ought to do now is well this
basically just right on top of it got a hard time to cut that off and in my hit
the turbo if I don’t do a Russian is from the wall right on top of it
so you can put the waste kit on the car this was a she 580 bucks brand-new
because you don’t want to get something use and have issues with it and then for
the turbo and the manifold I ended up getting up an offer up for 1,100 bucks
so there’s a good price hopefully aster was still good many
spins so see hey what’s going on
Raghavan you provide a deal we find a clutch last night so we picked it up but
it’s super good if you don’t love this how much did you pay for it 70 bucks a mile it might work it’s a little wide
wheel to eight because the over years ago a little spray yeah but the Russell
added great but it fit our budget so it set off five hundred thousand a clutch
70 bucks we’re good to go Wow starting the day off right all right
this morning steering shaft we’re gonna bring in an exhaust manifold from the
factory motor and try the exhaust manifold on that side and see if it
gives us a little more pleasure space fun if not we got this Oregon eclis
incorrect procedure that we’d have to order parts and spend money that we
don’t have to try to do and he’s definitely not excited about that wood
so we’re gonna try it exhaust mouthful first
which is kind of crappy but hopefully the exhaust manifold swoops in here
and we can get this shaft to come down straight we got a fuel cell battery
mount I’m gonna run to the junkyard and pick up the rear end I’m praying that
that rear end doesn’t require a million things to get done to put in but we’ll
see when we get here plus we have things steering wheel plugs wires radiator fans
and an adapter for the steering wheel so let me get to ordering Hosea’s got to
get to the welding part and hopefully today we have more more to play
yesterday we’ve managed to get all the sound ending off the car and a dash out
so you can start doing the cage we start to clean up a little more just so you
can actually weld the plates to the body without being contaminated also we got
our different shortened to an s10 if it’s really good in this car we might do
like a mini tub because this is the frame of the car right here so we might
chop out this whole thing a little bit just to push basically get a little more
wheel cleaners in here i welded to something to tank so tank has a son
father – already at the tested I’ll make sure has no leaks but me it looks pretty
good and I welded wastegate to the manifold so now it’s all attached today
we’re hoping to get an engine in rebo part you can build an engine instead of
buying one and we might sell some of you stuff so we’re still in the AC system
came out of the car performer bucks the exhaust foreigner bugs and the diff for
600 so that puts a little more back in our budget actually go and get some cool
wheels we’re still stressed all the old wheels but we’ll see what happens
that’s my boy Mitch so he’s a real cat daddy I can world a little bit of shit
or something company is mounting the rear end or lateral bars or the quiche I
call them in to help us so which then while safety you know more than frauds
he’s not to do that he’d built little writing the rules car he did a bunch of
work here I’m gonna get to welding so he knows what he’s doing he’s gonna Bend
and notch all the pipes or I can well because he was way better but his price
we can’t afford him to play we can’t afford him a little bit but not
completely yeah he’s gonna bend all the pipes and set it you know for me just
species as well there later so you’re paying them to do all this for you yeah
see if you can use him for at least two days if not three days as long as the
budget allows basically so man where we heading
ah so we found an engine we’re gonna go pick up later but for now we’re gonna go
to Mazda tricks which is signal hill to pick up the repo parts so we’re building
our own engine no junkyard shit we don’t build a nice engine for it and make some
power it might in every bit the mother tree yeah it’s like a second time in
California so we’re gonna go show muscle tricks cool
so while Jose is doing all that good welding and Brad’s doing that chillin
I’m gonna start working on wiring I want to mock up everything that we’re
putting on the motor so that when we get into the car I know where everything has
to go and as you know when it’s in the car it’s super hard to do so we’re gonna
do our mock-up out here on the motor on the ground this isn’t hard like
everybody is in their head about putting fuel injection on a car if you get an LS
and you buy the Holley system you’re gonna watch me do it with you and
probably less than ten minutes what we’re looking at here is the complete
wires as well as ECU this is a Holley Terminator a lot of ECU’s you plug in
it’s just a block you don’t see anything it doesn’t do anything this was actually
an active ECU and these lights sequence for various problems issues or codes
with this Holley system to use the poly injectors to match the
Holley system that’s what I use in my car they also come with a colleague –
this has water temp oil to everything and it’s just this wire this right here
is your injector – it’s so simply labeled you see it right here it has the
cylinders numbered so you start the drivers front thing this is number one
and so they’re going one two three four five six seven eight so you just take
this right here you find your number one there number one goes like this and this
is gonna be where your injector plugs are gonna go so that would be the first
part of this installation it’s just laying this loom up here to where you
know the injectors are and you know that’s about where that’s gonna go this
is part two ECU black plugs go into the black box
it just it’s real color coordinated imagine this is gonna be your firewall
you know this is gonna go into your car now we know that’s going across our
motor and check this out it’s already there
for you dum-dum this is your oil pressure we poked oil pressure gauge
we’re gonna have to get a new center unit but see where it fits like it can’t
even go to any other sensors there no other sensors around here if you can’t
get that one right it’s pretty bad funny thing I’ll show you guys – you see wires
wrapped in this stuff you can almost guarantee that’s going in a hot area as
we can look it says crank and we know crank is on this side and if you look
great flood let me get to that simple they made it so that anybody can do it
here’s your ignition coils we know that eight is even so even number even
ignition coil about a Bing badda boom hot ignition coils odd side see how
these grounds right here say cylinder head so they require that you put these
grounds right here on these head bolts if you put them anywhere else you won’t
get fired trust me I know I’ve tried not a ping we’re done now we got the
wire loom all wired up you guys seen how easy that was probably
less than 10 minutes we’re gonna get this thing back in the car and probably
fish this wire loop through the holes that we need to make in the firewall and
start mocking up the rest of the motor so we’re not quite done with all
electrical we’ll go back to it we’ll show you what we’re gonna finish up with
but as far as this stuff and what we addressed on the motor and showing you
where all these plugs go because they’re super scary it’s easy it’s written right
there let’s get back at it Tom Pierre come here that’s it that’s it

gonna check it out see what it got bad daddy what you working with insulation

what are you doing this is what we could fit into but this can now be real-life meeting they’re losing weight they got a
lot of meat in there this is a joke right

we’re gonna use this Eastwood fender rolling given that we’re gonna have to
run a lot of tire in this car it’s best of world offenders given that this lip
on the fender can catch the tire a lot of times the slicks that we’re gonna use
at high speeds it expands so something that won’t grow sitting still or
cruising around will rub at 170 miles an hour
basic steps it’s you know put it in the hub usually they come pretty universal
it’s got different goals for it but you want to put this spacer on so you don’t
damage the tool and then you put the lug nut on it after that you’re gonna back
this out and you race it up and you want to start at an angle that way you can
start pushing on this and cranking on it as you see we’re here’s gonna start and
roll in so you want to take it easy and just go little by little you usually
want to get a heat gun into it so it’s gonna like right now it is gonna crack
the whip of this this paint is old and it has been repainted so there’s no
avoiding it it is gonna crack the paint so you’re just gonna send it yeah we’re
just gonna send it and now that you got it a little bit up you don’t want to
loosen it go up a little bit and angle it more on the top edge of it lock it in
keep rolling we’re gonna do another one but now you know you don’t have the lips
sticking straight out we can fit my tire you don’t use the roller for the last
part because if you tried to flatten this part it would just cause the fender
to come out and all you want all we want to do is roll them not pull the fender
out so Eastwood makes this tool fender finisher and it has some rubber side to
it better for the side of the fender with the paint and this side goes in so
what you will want to do is so you’re not pulling on the fender you just
little by little flattening it okay so now we have a flat line right
here so the tire can come all the way up to here and that’s not gonna catch on
that lip the paint chip is my bus this is compared to the other side you will
see the difference on this roll right here oh yeah
this hasn’t done so this Littman can catch on your tire so there’s a chance
you will rupture the tires at high speeds that you do not roll the fenders
all these things are gonna have some taken care of the lips gonna have to be
taken care of these bumps are gonna have to be taken care of you know we want to
take care of that tire expansion and you know that’s a problem so we have to
address it so we are nearing the end of day three
of building battle and these guys have made some crazy progress with these
things I honestly I honestly cannot believe how far they’ve come in such a
short period of time looks like brick bread Oh bread this is where we’re at
this is the solution Oh corners left and right do you think
he may was so good and all this crap yes something’s gonna take those back oh my
goodness update me what you guys it’s not a–not seventeenth time a voter in
we decided to boot the headers so we’re gonna chop these things in and make them
work feel so mounted in we also figured out that the rear end that I bought will
not work Oh No so you’re ten steps back we went
ten steps backwards a day so at least you guys took a step forward somewhere so where do you where do you guys think
you’re at with your budget near the end I want to stay with less than a thousand
dollars that we have before after returning this and before I also have to
get a driveshaft plugs wires you got a speed and be squeezing I’m
squeezing we might have a car wash Brad you can’t afford me sorry I’m sorry
and now we meet again with the Vargas brothers where do you see this on the
s10 is that for when you crash we do a wheelie what I seen us in together

front brakes only so you can let me do a Burnout with our kitchen all right let
go the clutch hit the gas and once we don’t hit the button again in the car
all locks well how much money do you figure out
you think you’re like a at 9000 around like 7:00 so what do you think you’re
gonna use the rest of that money for wheels so you’re saving as much money as
you can – yeah tacking it will apply it open your app builder tomorrow build the
engine and try throw it in if we find a transmission okay all right well good

cars a lot faster than I thought they would

    Rotary parts must be hella cheap over in the US but.

  2. when i first got out of diesel tech training my first task at my job was a engine harness on a Maxxforce 10.. i was terrified, but after that first job ive done alot of different harness's, most of the connectors on internationals wont even plug in to the wrong spot they all have specific pins and keyholes so they only fit their spot.

  3. Obviously the V8. Doesn't matter which one there's the two big ones like small block 350 or the 4.8/5.3 LS, both have huge aftermarket support and easily make 450 to 1000 horsepower cheap. The rotary engines face to many problems and need babied.

  6. Vargas Bros need to be more frugal with the go fast parts and focus on not getting rusty parts some rust ok but for a 10 sec car I would not use that clutch

  9. Headers are never test fit on the vehicle application. They are test fit on a dyno, where nothing gets in their way. “Yeah it’ll fit.”

  22. Use the headers … put the drive shaft between the middle of the header ….streach bend add whatever with similar tube and use them that flat stock you had there look embarrassing for a real builder …. im sorry but i could have done better
