Car Depreciation – How to win against it ? Explained

Car Depreciation – How to win against it ? Explained

Hei guys ! If you wanna buy a brand new vehicle
and keep it’s value over time , There are in general 7 aspectsyou should consider before
making any purchase . Aspects NO1 : If a car has a relatively strong engine , and it looks
sporty on the exterior , it’s more likely for that model to keep it’s value over time
!. As an example , I found these 2 Volkswagen models for sale on a website . Both run on
gasoline and have manual transmission and … if you notice there is no big difference
on mileage and price betwen these 2 but it’s more likely that the GTI model with 97 hp
extra , will resale with a higher price than the TSI model . Now it can be cheaper to maintain
the 1 liter TSI model or it might have a better fuel economy but with this example I am reffering
strictly on depreciation aspect . Aspect number 2 : Just by beeing the first owner of the
car can increase the value of it ! To understand why , imagine a 3 years old sport car with
5 owners in the past . It’s bassicaly a sign that the car has been used and throwh to the
next person . So it’s highly possible that each owner has raced the car , putting extra
stress and wear on the engine , they were not taking care of maintainace properly , ormaybe
one of the owner have been involved in an accident . So there can be plenty of undesired
things happened to the car when there were many owners in a short period of time . Aspect
number 3 : Being the first owner you have the chance to mainatin it properly like : Changing
the oil and filters on time , as well as preventing rust by coating the undercarriage or polishing
the paint .. You know , a new car is like a new born baby ! How you treat it on it’s
first years , will reflect on the rest of it’s life on roads and also on the resale
price . Aspect number 4 :Estimate the mileage you are going to put on the new car . You
probabily know that Less mileage on the car it translates to a higher resale price ! For
example it can be a good idea to have an old used car for dailly drive to work and keep
the new car for special occasions to reducethe mileage on it ! Aspect number 5 :Th tipe of
fuel ,alone, can influence the resale price of an vehicle . In some countries cars with
gasoline engine get less tax than the diesel ones . For example in Norway diesel cars are
forbidden in busy city senters when the pollution coeficient goes up ! So it’s possible that
in the near feature diesel cars will lose value because they are power by diesel . Aspect
number 6 : You can do upgrades on performance such cold air intake , aftermarket exhaus
and some other good stuff OR you can do upgrades to the exterior and looks , such spoilers
carbon fiber bumpers new rims and all that stuff that looks good on a car . And finnaly
the aspect number 7 , Be able to afford and pay cash for a new vehicle .Usually the more
you are able to pay down for a car the less you will be affected by depreciation . Also
since you could afford the full price of the car , you most likelly afford the maintainance
and upgrades as I mentioned in previous points . .. ALLright guys thanks for watching subscribe
and stay tunned , And I will see you next time 😉
