SHE DROPPED ALMOST $18,000 ON THE CAR, DROVE IT OFF THE LOT AND HADrt NO IDEA ABOUT THE DANGEROUS THREAT INSIDE.>>DO YOU FEEL BETRAYED?>>ABSOLUTELY. rtYOU SHOULD HAVE A RELATIVE AMOUNT OF FAITH THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS.>>THEY SAID THEY DIDN’T KNOW THISrt MINIVAN HAD AN OPEN SAFETY RECALL. THEY TELL US THAT THEY NORMALLY REPAIR RECALLS LIKE THIS OR THEYrt NOTIFY CUSTOMERS ABOUT THEM, BUT THEY ADMIT THAT THEY NEVER ACTUALLY CHECK THEIR CARS FOR OPEN RECALLS ON THE FEDERAL SAFETY WEBSITErt THAT TRACKS THEM. THERE IS NO FEDERAL LAW PREVENTING THE SALE OF USED CARS WITH OPEN RECALLS BUTrt THIS DOES SAY THAT CARS MUST BE FIT TO BE DRIVEN SAFELY. THE CASES AT THE HEART OF AN ISSUE THAT FIVErt INVESTIGATES EXPOSED IN 2015. DEALERSHIPS INCLUDING CARMAX SELLING CARS WITH UNFIXED SAFETY rt DEFECTS. ALMOST TWO YEARS LATER THE CONSUMER WATCHDOG GROUP SAYS THERE ARE MORE CARS THAN OTHERrt — THAN EVER WITH UNFIXED SAFETY DEFECTS.>>DRIVING ALREADY POSES A NUMBER OF RISKS. rtTO MAKE THAT EVEN RISKIER BY ALLOWING THE SALE OF UNSAFE CARS IS UNACCEPTABLE. rt>>ON ONE DAY 28% OF THE CARS FOR SALE IN MASSACHUSETTS HAD OPEN RECALLS. rtTHIS ONE HAD SIX INCLUDING THOSE THAT COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH OR ENGINE FIRE.>>WERE NOT TALKING ABOUT MAYBE THErt TIRES WERE BALD. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT IS FEDERALLY MANDATED SAFETY RECALL THAT POSES SIGNIFICANT RISK TO THErt DRIVER AND ANYBODY WHO SHARES THE ROAD WITH THEM.>>WErt POINTED OUT THAT MULTIPLE VEHICLES MAY HAVE SAFETY BECAUSE ENOUGH ARE LINKS TO THE FEDERAL WEBSITE TO CHECK THEM. CARMAX SAYS THE REVIEW THEM AT THE TIME OF SALE.>>rt IS DISCLOSING THE FACT THAT THEY MAY HAVE A SAFETY RECALL, IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH?>>THAT FAILS CONSUMERS. rtAT THE VERY LEAST THEY SHOULD INFO YOU, IN CASE YOU WANT TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE WITH OPEN SAFETY RECALLS.>>CARMAX SAYS THEY DON’T BRING rt

  1. And the recalls that they mentioned were on GM & Chrysler products, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?!!!!!!!!! Sounds like the owner of that Town & Country should have bought an Odyssey or Sienna (Japanese) instead, huh?!!!!! Then she would not have had this problem in the first place!!!!!!! Yes, I KNOW that dealers should NOT be selling used cars with open safety recalls, but………….just sayin'……..
