Fire leaves local auto dealer picking up pieces

Fire leaves local auto dealer picking up pieces

SASHA: FROM SKY 7, YOU CAN SEE
JUST HOW MASSIVE THESE FLAMES
ARE. ROBERT B. GIBSON AUTO SALES HA
BEEN OPEN SINCE THE LATE 1940’S
BUT TONIGHT, PART OF THE LOCAL
DEALERSHIP IS BURNT, THE OWNERS
ALSO LOSING A RARE GEM AFTER A
FIRE MAKES ITS WAY THROUGH THEIR GARAGE.>>IT IS PRETTY HEARTBREAKING. SASHA: THIS IS WHAT’S LEFT OF A
CAR DEALERSHIP AFTER A FIRE
SPREADS TO THEIR PROPERTY.>>PROBABLY ABOUT 6:15 OR SO AND
WE HEARD THIS SHOT WE THOUGHT
WAS A GUNSHOT. SASHA: THIS IS WHAT’S LEFT OF A
CAR DEALERSHIP AFTER A FIRE
— THAT’S WHEN TOM PENNINGTON
AND THE SALES MANAGER RUSHED
OUTSIDE, FINDING SMOKE COMING
FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF THEIR PROPERTY.>>THE WHOLE ALLEY WAS ALREADY
ENGULFED AND THE FIRE WAS
CREEPING UNDER THE FENCE OF THE
PROPERTY. SASHA: THE MECHANIC GARAGE, THEN
ERUPTING IN FLAMES. NOW, HALF THE ROOF IS GONE. INSIDE, THIS.>>WE HAD A 1931 ROADSTER. IT MEANT A LOT TO US. SASHA: THE PENNINGTONS SPENT
COUNTLESS HOURS FIXING THIS
BEAUTY. JUST TWO BAYS AWAY, THIS 1957,
FOUR DOOR CHEVY. IN MUCH BETTER SHAPE.>>NOW IT IS KIND OF GONE. SASHA: THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THE
FIRE STARTED AT A HOMELESS CAMP
IN A BACK ALLEY.>>RECENTLY, WE’VE HAD ONE GROUP
THAT WAS BACK THERE WHEN THE
FIRE STARTED AND ALMOST THREE
WEEKS. SASHA: HE SAYS THEY’VE CALLED
POLICE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT TO NO
AVAIL. THE STORE MANAGER TAKING THIS
VIDEO MOMENTS BEFORE THE FIRE
SPREAD.>>IT WAS TOTALLY ENGULFED OR
THEIR CAMP WAS. THE BUILDING AT THE TIME THE
VIDEO WAS TAKEN WERE NOT
TOUCHED. SASHA: TONIGHT, FIRE
INVESTIGATORS, UNABLE TO CONFIRM
HOW THIS FIRE STARTED BUT DID
SAY AN ARSON TEAM IS
INVESTIGATING. LUCKILY, NO ONE AT THE
DEALERSHIP WAS INJURED. THE OWNERS SAY THEY HOPE THEY
CAN START CLEANING UP AND
GETTING THE PLACE BACK TO
NORMAL, AND THEY WILL STAY OPEN
FOR BUSI

  1. Man this homelessness is getting out of hand…choosing the rent and tax free life while us hard working people EARN our living and PAY TAXES! Something needs to be done about this, pretty soon our beautiful city will be over run with this filth
