  1. Find an old car (pre-2000) and do this:
    DO NOT START/CRANK THE CAR.
1: Check the dipsticks. If filled, drain the oil and transmission fluid and replace them.
2: Check the air filter. If it's wet do this: Take out the spark plugs and crank the car. Water should spit out. When there's no more water, put them back in (or replace them) and start.

  2. Well,a lot of people wont care much about the wather damage, they will buy the car cheap and sale it some where else for sure for profit,i can see a lot of those cars here in miami in the furure, one of the most corrupted cities in the u.s!

  3. Hopefully I've been working 10 hour days for the past four weeks. I work with car parts rear view mirrors and we've been extra busy since these hurricanes.

  4. Just because there flood doesn't mean the insurance will sell for 200 dollars they go to auction and get sold for thousands of dollars

  5. Carfax….hahaha, that is a joke. I can personally attest that dealerships have fudged them…long story short, I purchased a car from a local dealer and a few month later wanted to trade it in. The Carfax the appraiser got came back airbag deployment and that was not on the Carfax the dealership provided.

  6. The red ferrari was my neighbors and he literally just got it a month before harvey. he got another one but he had to pay 1/4 of the original price. poor guy

  7. check the bolts that hold seats to floor of car. if they are very rusty or rusty on a new model car, likely its flood damage. Also check the under tray of seat, if its rusty like bolts flood damage

  8. is there a way to tell how high the water got in the car… if it just wet the floors and didnt reach the motor id get a z06 vett and do a Ls swap with my old school 😎

  9. 5 things to learn from this video : 1. Car fax won't record anything if it wasn't reported…
    2. Water doesn't mix with oil…
    3. This is bullshit …
    4. You can be scammed anyways…
    5. I forgot this one tbh

  10. Shop for a mustang/muscle car. Tear out everything. Replace parts as needed. And of course open the engine check for water damage. Make it bone dry put it back together and now you have a racecar; on the cheap

  11. i love flooded out 10 year old trucks. Buy for under 1000 bucks, scrap chassis, clean up and sell seats, trim pieces, cluster, air bags, dash. By the time your done you'll have an engine and transmission for a hot rod build that you got for free and may have made a little money.

  12. I BOUGHT THE RED FERRARI. Went to a live auction and saw it there so I bid 78k and won. Had a starting problem but ey, gotta invest.

  13. L OOK OUT > NEW CARS !! FROM THE SOUTH !! AND HURRICAN AREA !! GET YOUR CAR FROM THE NORTH ! OR KEEP THAT OLD CAR !! 89 gmc RE BUILD ! US ARMY OLD SCHOOLED >THATS HOW I WAS TRAINED!! GOOD LUCK U ALL !!

  14. I love these news reports. If you do not know what you are doing when it comes to buying a salvage title or a rebuilt titled vehicle please go pay triple the price at Carmax and leave the bargains for those of us that know what were doing.

  15. 1:40 A Ferrari 458 Spider on the cheap!!! Woooo!!!! All I gotta do is change the oil and, of course, the oil filter, crank the engine over without the spark plugs (yes, I know I gotta remove 8 of them, since we're dealing with a V8) and clean her up good and proper. It's been underwater, but it's not like carbon fiber and all that composite metal stuff rusts.

  16. NEVER buy a car that’s been flooded. I did that once and the problems were endless. I finally had to sell it.
