How to erase lost or stolen transponder chip keys from Toyota, Lexus or Scion ECU computer.

Hi folks this is Victor in its DIY time
again. Today I’m going to show you how you can erase transponder chip keys from
ECU of Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles. This might be useful if one of your keys
got lost or stolen or if you bought a used car and the second set of keys is
missing. To complete this process we’re going to use the same cable we used in
previous videos to program the keys. I’ll post a link in a description area below
where you can buy the same cable that I’m using here. You will also need a
laptop computer with Windows XP, 7, 8 or 10 operating system. Launch TechStream
software that came with the cable and connect to your vehicle. Next click on
the immobilizer tab. Next click on the utility button, and then select the
option to erase transponder codes. First you’ll be presented with a welcome
screen explaining that this function will erase all of the keys except for
the one you’re using and it also warns you that this process will fail if you
exceed the time limit for any step. Click on Next button to begin. Step one: within
120 seconds insert the registered master key in the key cylinder and then turn
the ignition switch ON. Click Next to proceed.
Step two: within 10 seconds remove the master key from ignition cylinder. Click
on Next button. You’ve now successfully erased the transponder codes from the
ECU. Click on exit button. If you have more than one key and you still want to
use them you can do it, but you have to reprogram them first. Check out my other
videos if you’d like to learn how to do that. Thank you for watching! Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you’d like to
see more Toyota, Lexus and Scion videos like this, and have a nice day!
