  4. if you decrease the weight of the internals doesn't that mess up the harmonics on the engine. on a s2000 I heard this can happen do not know if any other car has this problem.

  5. The grip doesn't seem to play a huge role. If max force is μmg and F=ma, dividing by mass gets Max Acc.=μg=
    9.81μ m/s^2. This is equivalent to a 0-60 time of 2.734s/μ, or about 2.5 s since μ is usually around 1.1. Does this mean that grip doesn't play a role in acceleration above 2.734s/μ 0-60, (under 9.81μ m/s^2) or will 0-60 times decrease with increase grip (all other factors unchanged ),even if the current 0-60 time is well over the 3 s mark?

  6. Question, say you have 184 hp @ 5700 RPM (2014 Mazda 6). If the car can rev all the way to 6250 rpm, why is the horsepower not stated at 6250?

  9. Another easy way to increase traction (grip) without adding mass is by simply moving it over the drive wheels that need it. For example, relocating your battery, fuel cell and and fluid reservoirs. On a RWD vehicle, placing these components over the rear wheels with give you better traction and more WHP on the pavement.

  11. I believe his calculations are wrong. You wouldn't divide the two areas to find the difference. You would subtract them. Also, you cannot say the exhaust is 60% bigger because 1.58 is not a percentage. The 1.58 number says the cat back exhaust area is 1.58 times larger than the stock exhaust. 
    To determine the percent difference in the two areas, he should have calculated the percent difference ratio which is the subtraction of both areas divided by the average of both areas multiplied by 100% which gives 45.1% (look up the formula online). So, there is actually a 45.1% difference in the areas for the two exhausts. Therefore you wouldn't calculate 140 hp * 1.6 to get 225 hp. You would actually do this:
    (140 hp * 0.451) + 140 hp = 203 hpThe cat back exhaust would have to be approximately 62.3 mm in diameter to calculate a 60% difference in area and to get 225 hp.
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that makes more sense to me.

  12. what I would like to know is how much an engine makes hp in theory. what I mean is if there was no friction at all, and no noise and the engine would run, how much more power it would make compared to real engines. I've heard somewhere like 10 years ago that a 4 stroke engine is only able to give 30% of it's theoretical hp.

    All I did was to add wider tires with better tread and I have never heard of sticky tires before.

What I don't understand about hp vs torque is the effects of each on the car: if I had a high torque low hp car according to your vid it would go the same speed without being effected by its weight as much as a high hp low torque car which would go faster but be more effected by weight reduction? So… Why should I increase hp rather then torque if I'm not gonna change my weight?

  19. How to make a car faster=torque production/gearing. Increase grip by a diff or a later hitting , larger turbocharger. Or higher gearing and less gears or a diesel gearset.

  21. driving with a low amount of fuel increases speed because the car is much lighter, i can literally feel the difference in my car when my tank is almost empty compared to when i just fueled up

  25. anyone plz help me out ,,, if the atmospheric pressure is decreased (high altitude) how much horse power of the engine is reduced from the actual hp of the engine said by manufacturer at normal altitude plz help me out is there any method to find this

  26. That's what did to my Subaru I changed the heads from 2.5 to 2.2. this increase compression I wanted more MPG and I got it. Just the heads the 2.5 block is the same got a bump in hp not much but very noticeable.🤗

  30. Lastly to increase HP you need a foot attached to a leg apply pressure to go button in car, this simple equation can be used in need for HP= (L+F)+Flbs+GB

  34. How can i calculate my hp now.. i increased max RPM from 7400 to 8600.. I had 101hp on 6450rpm and 113nm on 4950rpm.. how can i calculate it now? :/

  35. in order to increase power of engine really , have to do fabrication on the engine , must to be re changed piston size, cylinder size , rod of piston , orifice for cooling water , orifice on the crankshaft , size of valve on head of cylinder.

  40. Please help. I have a two stroke engine, 125cc. I have switched the cylinder for a 140cc cylinder but so far my lap times are exactly the same. I don’t know why? The rpm with the 140cc cylinder are lower than with the 125cc cylinder, about 200rpm lower. Any suggestions? Thanks 🙏
