LEGO Harry Potter Knight Bus 2019 review! 75957

LEGO Harry Potter Knight Bus 2019 review! 75957

hey everyone is a quick look at the Lego
Harry Potter the night bus the latest one for 2019 it is the third
that Lego has officially released that’s intended to be minifig compatible I
won’t say minifigs scaled but minifig compatible and I definitely think this
is the best one to date comes with the expected and correct three minifigures
yeah I’ll give it I’ll give it three and a quarter maybe the bus itself is very
very purple as well it should be is from the prisoner of azkaban was striking in
the movie for having the triple decker design an extension of the classic
Routemaster double-decker bus I think that Lego has captured the overall shape
here pretty well and they’ve done it by cheating oh yes Lego has cheated big
time this time around you see all those main windows that have the frames around
them yeah those are all new that’s a new three by three by one window frame with
a new three by three window frame insert it’s interesting it’s just well it’s in
between the the two by is and the four buyers right and I honestly did not
notice that they had created this new design when I first looked at the
pictures of the thing I should have noticed it I’m sure that hundreds of
thousands people noticed it but it caught me completely by surprise when I
open up the package and started doing the build and there are a lot of them
here and they work really well for this design especially for a six wide build
being able to have two of them side by side with that nice height it’s just
pretty perfect surely they will be using those window frames again in the future
in different colors but this is definitely a primary use for them to
start off I like what they did for the the chassis it’s very low it’s a fully
custom build they don’t have any specialized large chassis piece in there
you know needs to hold it all together I like the
black portions I like how this part of the the fender here off to the side of
the engine compartment is fairly rounded I like how the front is built a little
bit differently than the rear there’s a little bit of extra width which to me
just makes it feel like it’s going to be more stable as it goes through its crazy
maneuvers as it you know angles or angles around and does crazy tight turns
and everything probably the worst thing about this entire design is the grille
at the front that is done with a single sticker on a 2×4 tile there I don’t mind
this sticker off to the side but this one I just I like what it looks like I
think that it’s the most realistic probably the best-looking grille that
they’ve done to date for any of these these buses but I would have preferred
something that you could build from parts even if it didn’t look as
realistic that just it’s just a preference thing you can open up the
greater portion of one side of the bus here and you see just one of the beds
are approximated there and it’s able to slide back and forth a bit as a matter
of fact if I move that that driver’s seat you can hinge it in you get a
little bit more room there and these beds are designed to actually
accommodate one minifigure a piece well this bed is one single one is able to
accommodate one minifigure you can just lay down there and be mostly covered up
so that’s a nice detail too bad they only were able to fit one in there but I
get it yeah size is definitely a constraint here I like the chandelier up
above which is able to itself swing back and forth that was a good idea got a
single seat up here with a little bit of railing as well and it’s a little bit
difficult to get the the driver in there you do kind of need to move that that
seat around like that it really actually helps and of course having the bent out
of the way there’s also a steering wheel back there tucked off to the corner the
other thing that’s tucked off to the corner is the shrunken head Dre head
there probably was definitely one of my favorite things
from the prisoner of azkaban sigh guru are you yeah ticket away it’s going to
be a bumpy ride just I I quote him a little bit too much
just in day-to-day life let me actually take that out but I wanted to show you
that it’s able to also swing back and forth it’s on a loose hinge it is a full
minifig head and it is printed on the front and the back they don’t have any
hairpiece for it but they tried to get some of the some of the dreads in there
and then for the upper floor there are a couple of things you can do with this
first of all you took the center section of the roof off to see in there but you
can also remove the entire upper floor this does allow you a little bit better
easier access to mostly the balcony level over here I guess you can see to
figure up front as well but it’s not really designed for Daniel there isn’t a
proper seat for that I think there could have been but taking this off this main
way that you can see in here it is a little bit of a shame that they don’t
have a different print for the newspaper there you know be a great spot to have a
perfect spot the perfect spot to have the escaped from Azkaban newspaper but
they only did one print for the Wizarding World for a newspaper up to
this point and they just keep reusing it but right there is a spot where you can
place Harry Potter’s chip Chester trunk is really what’s supposed to be like a
like a suitcase almost and yeah the red stuff there it’s just part of the
assembly to allow you to angle this window sub-assembly
up just a bit I should show you the contents of the trunk here have a potion
to play around with very important and urgent letter and big Bart chocolate as
you need chocolate to to live there’s Harry Potter and his muggle clothing
with the medium-sized legs which can actually bend and everything though they
are shorter than full adult sized legs and he’s got his wand yeah that’s just
that I think that this figure is done just right or early of a prisoner of
azkaban two phases really really nothing I can complain about here and then
here’s Ernie the driver on the left and Stan the conductor on the right I think
Ernie looks really good they got that compound hairpiece it’s
all one color of plastic but it has the white hair printing on it to give him
the bald head or half bald head I think that Stan looks a little bit too neat
even with his clothing here I don’t know exactly what they could have done to
make it look even worse fitting you know his suit in the movie was very very
loose-fitting and uncountable long I miss Ben Shahn thought and I will be
Jochen that’s it for this evening also the facial expression for Stan here
looks too serious to me too angry even I like the cap but the face I feel should
have been looking more unaffected rather than rather than mad and then here are
the leftover or spare parts you really can’t expect much in this department
from such a small set but there are some cool pieces there now let’s talk about
value $0.10 priced part ratio in the US for this set especially when you
consider that so many of its pieces are fairly large or relatively more valuable
than the average Lego piece I’m talking about all of these window frames forget
about the fact that there are a new mold just the fact that they are window
frames those are more valuable than usual and also window panes typically
are more valuable than usual so I can’t ask for a better price department show
than 10 cents in the US and yet I don’t feel like I got a good deal with this if
you’re gonna see the the box in person there’s the size of the things so the
image on the back is a little bit smaller then than the real thing but I
don’t feel like I got $40 worth of stuff here it feels like a $30 set when I
look at it um even though I went through the process of building it you know I
put my hands on every single piece and you know put the time into it I felt its
complexity and everything but it just doesn’t feel like $40 to me it feels
like 30 I could give it 35 tops and then hope for a little bit of discount unless
you’re really really looking forward to those figures or just having the set in
general and you can’t wait for it to go on sale so yes that’s a rough one
objectively it’s priced great not not even okay it’s it’s priced wonderful for
for today but yeah I I wish that it was cheaper one other thing a small note
yeah the conductor figure he’s shown on the outside here holding on to the the
bar there that the pole the handle and the reason that they do that that he has
to be holding on on the outside he can’t actually stand inside he can stand right
there at the doorway but that’s the absolute lid of it if you try to go one
single plate higher up to the level of the floor which is right there he’s not
gonna fit that was a little bit of a disappointment to me I wanted to be able
to bring him inside but you can’t without placing him somewhere around the
bed and there’s just not a good spot for him they don’t even have any any studs
there because the bed needs to be able to sorry about the focus I was focusing
on the figure myself but the bed needs to be able to slide back and forth and
they just tile off the floor there so just one weirdness about the design
that’s it for the review though if you want to check out to the build I do have
the real time pure build version up as well as the sped up more normal speed
build version so whichever you prefer check one out and I’ll talk to you again
as soon as I can thanks for watching
