Man charged in October shooting at Johnston County used-car dealership


MATTER, THIS IS CBS 17 NEWS. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US. I’M ANGELA TAYLOR. AND I’M MARIUS PAYTON. TONIGHT A MAN IS BEHIND BARS CHARGED IN AN ARMED ROBBERY. LAST OCTOBER JOHNSON COUNTY AUTHORITIES SAY SOMEONE SHOT THE EMPLOYEE IN THE THE NECK. THE SHOOTER AND TWO OTHERS INVOLVED IN THE ROBBERY RAN OFF BEFORE THE DEPUTIES ARRIVED. ZAK DAHLHEIMER IS LIVE WITH DETAILS ON THE ARREST. Reporter: RIGHT BEHIND ME IS WHERE THIS ALL TOOK PLACE LAST YEAR. THE EMPLOYEE MANAGED TO CROSS CLEVELAND ROAD AFTER BEING SHOT WHERE HE WAS TREATED BY A DENTIST AT THIS DENTAL OFFICE. THAT 22-YEAR-OLD SCOTT BRIDGES HAS BEEN ARRESTED. DEPUTIES SAY BRIDGES FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON WITH INTENT TO KILL. CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ASSAULT AND ROBBERY. DEPUTIES CONFIRM THE AUTHORITIES BOOKED BRIDGES YESTERDAY INTO THE JOHNSTON COUNTY JAIL ON A ONE MILLION DOLLARS BOND. THE EMPLOYEE WAS WORKING BY HIMSELF WHEN TWO MASKED MEN AND A WOMAN TRIED TO ROB THEM. HE WAS SHOT IN THE NECK. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WAS LOOKING FOR THE THREE PEOPLE WHO WERE SEEN LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP IN A CREAM COLORED FORD FUSION WITH A 30 DAY TAG. BRIDGES IS THE FIRST SUSPECT TO BE ARRESTED. I ASKED THE SHERIFF OFFICIALS IF THEY’RE LOOKING FOR ANYONE ELSE AND THEY SAY THE CASE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION. IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION
