Here it goes. I’m 49 years strong. So, to some degree I am hip-hop, and have just about heard it all concerning rap music. Came by this show on Netflix recently and in my humble opinion, rap is dying. You young people today sound too much like the next guy. I’ll admit I’ve heard some original bars.However, the delivery and music seems to always sound like you’ve heard it before. As a result, I don’t see how the judges in good conscience tell this kids they have something, when the truth is, they sound like everybody else. Although, I can admit my bias. I come from a generation along with generations before me, that originality was the norm. Rap and r & b of today has this “cookie cutter “ presentation. When you turn on the radio nowadays, let’s be honest. You don’t know who your listening to. And some of us know why that is. Please young people. I implore you. Do not squander your inheritance, musically speaking of course Keep it fresh. And more importantly, strive to be original.

So many wrong decisions made in this show, who to let pass the next stage who doesn’t. One dude’s shit was actually likeable but was told he couldn’t dance and should practice on his footwork on a rap show, they didn’t pass on him. One contestant’s shit was cringey af the MURDER MURDER MURDER SHOOT ME dude, they let him pass too. Is almost like this judges don’t know what they looking for I swear. When contestants rapping that shit with bars, judges especially Cardi be saying, “idk if you could sell, make these labels their money, could you be on the chart, could you make these white folks happy making them some money” like that’s all she cares about, if you litty. But when contestants shits actually quite litty (non of these contestants shit was lit lit actually) they be saying you ain’t got no content, no quotables, don’t know what you said. They literally don’t know what they looking for. Is like every of these judges looking for different things. These judges ain’t got no opinion of they own. Is like whichever judges gives their opinions first, the other judges will follow based off this judge’s opinion. Contestants that are actually good, when the first judges give their critic, all the other judges will be criticising him and eventually don’t get pass. When contestant trash, first judges be saying something good about them, then other judges will start showering them with the littlest compliment they can find and they get to the next stage. Bottom line is trash cringey rappers that’s real bad move on to the next stage, rappers that are actually good don’t get to move on to the next stage. Judges don’t got opinions of their own, whoever critics first the rest gon follow, they let contestant through based off what overall comments are. Judges give off the feels they don’t want to go against one another’s comments so they just follow suit. I don’t know this first few episodes a whole mess.
