Rolex has not increased their prices since 2015 that is why people have been speculating for years about when it is going to happen or not but now it is finally happening! Rolex is increasing their prices on the 1st of January 2020 for 6,5% to be exact Now I am going to tell you what this means for most popular Rolex watches in regard to their prices and after that I am going to answer the most burning questions about the Rolex price increase! Enjoy! A quick reminder before we start: As far as we know, Rolex rounds up their prices to the last two or three digits which means, the price marks we make in this video might deviate from the actual price for about 50-100€ But now lets look at the most popular models and how they are affected by the increase in price e.g. Submariner NoDate, Price before was 6.800€ and starting 2020 is going to cost approx. 7.250€ The date version of the Sub is going to increase from 7.750€ to 8.250€ The Hulk is going to increase from 8.200€ to 8.750€ and e.g. the Pepsi and the Batman are both going to increase from 8.400€ to 9.000€ The steel Rolex Daytona used to cost 11.300€ and starting the new year is going to cost around 12.050€ The so called ‘entry-level’ Rolex, the Oyster Perpetual 39mm which used to sell for 5.150€ but is going to cost you 5.500€ in 2020 More infos on prices and models are available on our website – link is in the description Lets jump right into the most frequently asked questions which is basically everyone asking themselves after such an increase in price the very first question that has also been discussed in some forum is Is it really that certain, that the price increase is happening? In that case I can tell you for sure This time, it is really happening, the info is 100% legit We have heard from various sources that all German ADs (authorized dealers) have received the official info today from Rolex The next question many of you ask is whether they have to pay the ‘new price’ even if they have ordered the watch before the prince increase in 2019 Unfortunately and officially, yes. Usually, those ‘orders’ are without obligation which means, that e.g. you have ordered a GMT Master Pepsi on the 10th of Sept. 2019 which used to cost 8.400€ you are going to have to pay 9.000€ when buying it after the 31st of Dec. 2019 Of course, ADs are free to give you discounts if they feel like it so that they can give you the ‘old price’ but lets be honest, especially when it comes to those extremely popular models, it is highly unlikely The next question is: Can I ‘withdraw’ my order after learning about the price increase? Like we have explained in question #1 Most orders are nonbinding request and therefore without obligations on both sides in case there is a binding order you are most definitely have a fixed price on that order in which case you would pay the old price anyways even if you get the watch in 2020 The last question – and a really big one, too is: Are the grey-/prewoned market prices going to increase, too? In that case we have to be absolutely transparent and say that there is now way we can 100% predict what is going to happen But what we can do is give you a careful prediction (based on our experience): I believe, that the watches which are being sold way over RRP e.g. the Daytona, the Pepsi, the Hulk those models are probably not going to be affected by it But those watches which are bought/sold roughly above or below the RRP e.g. Oyster Perpetual 39mm or the Datejust 41mm those models might be affected by the price increase and I would expect that those grey market and preowned prices (for those watches) are going to increase slightly, too – respectively like the RRPs from Rolex So that is it for today for this very short video inbetween Now we would like to know what your questions are feel free to post them down below in the comments or on our website (link in the description, website is in German ) and we are going to be online for a little while after this video is released to answer some of your questions That is it for now, have a good one and I will see you in the next video in two days – take care !
