Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor: GM Original Equipment | ACDelco

No matter what our competitors may claim,
ACDelco is the only original equipment brand for GM cars and trucks. So if you’re looking
for a tire pressure monitor sensor to service a GM vehicle than look no further than ACDelco.
In fact, we offer nearly 20 part numbers that cover 100% of GM vehicles equipped with tire
pressure monitor systems dating back to 1996. Since 2008, the National Highway and Transportation
Safety Administration has mandated that all new cars and trucks must be equipped with
a tire pressure monitoring system. This system has a battery powered sensor located
in the tire that monitors the tire’s pressure and sends a radio frequency signal to the
vehicle computer system. This system in turn alerts the driver when tire pressure falls
more than 25% below the manufactures recommendations. When it comes to tire pressure monitor sensors,
there are some important things to keep in mind when you compare our ACDelco GM OE part
to that of our competitors. First, our GM OE sensors are engineered with the vehicle’s
tire and control module system. This means that the sensors are designed to communicate
with the computer system for each specific make and model vehicle. Many of the aftermarket
universal sensors may require a special calibration to communicate with the vehicle, and even
then they might not be able to communicate correctly with the vehicle. Many aftermarket
brands might even use different radio frequencies and have problems performing at original equipment
levels. ACDelco’s original GM OE sensors feature corrosion
resistant valve stems made of either aluminum or rubber with a brass body and both contain
nickel plated valve core. Also remember that many aftermarket competitors consolidate to
create universal sensors and that too much consolidation often leads to incorrectly functioning
sensors. Finally, GM OE sensors have 3 volt lithium
batteries that are of the highest quality and last up to 10 years, and we back these
parts with a 12 month/12,000 mile limited warranty.
As you can see, ACDelco is committed to providing you the highest quality tire pressure monitor
sensors to keep you and your vehicle on the road.
