What Am I Building? HPI Racing RS4 Sport 3 Kit Creator Edition Build-Off Part 3 | RC Driver

I’m working on it Gey what’s going on everyone Greg here
with RC Driver and we are back with video number three of the HPI Racing RS4 Sport 3 Creator Edition build off and I have done some work since the
last time you guys have seen this platform over here we’ve already talked
to you guys about what’s in the box I went over my electronics even put a few
upgrades in and today we’re gonna talk about some of the details on this kit
and so far I think it’s looking pretty cool I’m sure you guys are just
eyeballing this instead of Liam watching me talk but this is just awesome how
it’s coming together really excited about showing you the final version next
week but for right now let me tell you everything that I did I’m gonna start
off with what’s under the body and in the last video video number two I told
you guys I was putting a roll cage in and that’s what I’ve been spending a lot
of my time with just kind of fitting this to the chassis it actually kind of
fits pretty well but yeah I did need to take out the heat gun and do a little
custom bending to kind of mount the front bars to the shock tower I also
went and drilled a couple holes under the chassis here to mount the rear of
the roll cage assembly and you know it’s looking pretty good the the drivers they
are sitting a little low in here so I might go and try to raise them up a
little bit but I got the cage to fit within this Camaro body and that was my
goal I want it I wanted it to look scale I wanted you to see some guys in there
and you know it’s all about scale nowadays in this Camaro body my HPI is
just beautiful I love the detail on it and so you know to add a little bit of
extra detail with some scale drivers in there I thought would just be awesome so
I spent a lot of time on that and I still need to do a little bit more work
in there for for clearance and kind of shifting things around a bit but it is
looking pretty awesome now that roll cage is actually from the HPI racing
maverick line it is a sub line to HPI and more affordable ready to run
vehicles it’s for one of desert buggies but you know without the
panels on and everything it looks pretty cool and it allows me to have those
driver figures in there now also from that maverick buggy is this rear spoiler
it goes on the back of this cage actually for the Maverick buggy but I
actually went and put it on the back of the Camaro here and it looks very cool
and actually I think it’s gonna work really well for my concept behind this
build now this is actually kind of a spin-off of a vehicle I saw online maybe
it’s like a tribute build to it I’m not gonna do an exact replica but I saw a
Camaro online and it was just awesome and I’m gonna come close to replicating
it but I’m not gonna give you all the details you know saying to myself I
can’t just show you guys everything in this video because you’ll eat a hint why
would you come back for the final reveal so I decided to kind of just show you
where I am at and you know what HPI it said to us in video number three why
don’t you guys show some paintwork and stuff like that and you know I think I’m
gonna skip that I think I’m just gonna show you guys some details and let your
mind just kind of wander but you know what to fulfill that request
here you go hbi I painted the headlight buckets there are a nice semi-gloss
aluminum so I did some paintwork on this video but the big thing was just to show
you guys some of this detail work to what I’ve been doing to this car just
showing you guys that you go and modify it to make something very very cool
now the rims on here these are HPI mini trophy rims and you can see I don’t have
tires on there yet because I don’t want to clue you in just yet to what I am
building and I might not have these rims on there we’re gonna have to see I’m
still working out some more details I know I’ve only got a week left to go to
get this thing finished up but I’m gonna get it done I’ve got a game plan and you
know what I think you should really check out everybody else’s build what
everybody is showing off so far looks like so much fun and it just shows the
versatility of this platform now to my friend Chris Hemi storm I’m going to use
my airbrush is to paint this thing pretty sure I’m gonna use my airbrush
paint it I don’t think I got a can bomb it but I have a lot of paint and you
know what what I’m calling out people I’m gonna call up to my friend mark over
at Mustang 360 Magazine building a Ford Mustang no no we’re gonna go with Camaro
buddy this is what’s gonna rule the terrain when I’m done with it
thanks you know what guys this has just been so much fun work
with everybody on is make sure you check out the links below to see my friends
that are working on this on the other channels you know they are definitely
fun to watch as well and this is all just gonna be awesome I can’t wait to
show you guys the final reveal on this this is gonna be next week and hopefully
I could get some running in on it as well it’s wintertime a lot of snow out
there we’re scheduled for snow for the rest of the week actually so hopefully
there will be a little bit of running but at the very least I’m gonna give you
a full reveal on this it is just gonna look super cool at least I think it’s
gonna look super cool all right guys we’ll see you back here for video for
next week

  1. I'm changing my guess from drift/drag to rally car…. Based on wheels, cage, and the statement made "rule the terrain"…..

  2. Should have stuck with the trail duster.

I went back and found where that idea got stuck in my head. Turns out it wasn't your build. πŸ˜‚

  3. What happened too scale full size van crawler body u had on back wall..?think it was orange or yellow…..was nice too look at(different)!

  4. Been a little disappointed in the lack of any major customisations being done to the chassis of thise buildof rc cars. I dont know what kind of limitations HPI has dropped on you guys though, but this was most definitely a refreshing turn with the installment of the cage inside that body. Nice work! πŸ™‚

  5. Really dude, not finished πŸ₯Ί, I hope see the car finish and running, that’s a joke, hi from Costa Rica πŸ‡¨πŸ‡· πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ€œπŸ»πŸ€›πŸ» another great video

  6. 24hr lemans replica??? Lookin pretty sweet!! Got a question for you RCD, I just bought a ECX 1/18th Torment, wondering if I can run lipo in it? Manual says 6v- 7.4v for the ESC. But the manual doesn't say anything about running a lipo or having a LVC. Any info would be much appreciated!! Take care, God Bless!!πŸ˜πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜€

  7. Love your channel dude, certainly one of my favourites. Thanks for consistent great content πŸ€ŸπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

  8. So much into this HPI RS4 Build off.. With my original guess being a Rally Car and my second being a Salt Flats Racer??? Mmm.. Wing for High Speed Runs, Cage for Hard Crashes,, Dual Occupancy for Navigation, Bead Lock Wheels, Powerful ESC and Motor Combo, and a Camero Body… I'm still leaning towards the Salt Flats Racer, but it could be..the #6 Stevenson Camaro Z28.R that spoiled the Ford Mustang GT350 R debut last season..??.. Cool stuff going on.. βœŒοΈπŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ HFLPRCING

  9. Awesome build so far. My only issue is the driver figures. The height looks good. I think you need to see if your can move them back a little. They would look a lot better and scale if they were back about a inch and a half. Just in front of the β€œB” pillar..That’s just my critique. Thanks for all the awesome videos man.

  10. Hey, I am interested if this thing can be used to build a Rallye car. Can you tell me how much wheel travel / ride height can be achieved? I am looking for ~15mm. Would that be possible?
